Title I

Title I is a federally funded program that was founded in the mid-1960’s by President Lyndon B. Johnson as part of the “war against poverty.” Since that time, Title I has helped hundreds of thousands of students who struggle in the areas of math and reading.

At Kato Public Charter School, the Title I program works with students to provide supplemental help in addition to core classroom engagement in math and reading.  Our Title I program includes a dedicated, part time paraprofessional working on math and reading one on one and in groups, and a resource professional to work with students and families to overcome areas that may lead to disruption of student learning.

Title I encourages parents and guardians to play a strong role in their children’s education.  As opportunities are identified, our Title I team will reach out to discuss the opportunity to their students individual needs.
